How it works

Interactive Metronome (IM) is the only research-based technology program that uses interactive [and fun!] exercises, and a patented auditory guidance system to measure and improve one’s rhythm and timing. By improving this fundamental ability, the individual learns to plan, sequence and process information more effectively.

Motor planning and sequencing problems have been linked to various developmental, behavioral, and learning challenges. Clinical studies suggest that technologies aimed at improving these capacities can produce functional outcomes.

A Neurological and Motor Rehabilitation Program

Used By Therapists To Improve The Following:

Cognitive Deficits

  • Attention & Concentration
  • Motor Planning & Sequencing
  • Language Processing
  • Behavior (Aggression & Impulsivity)

Physical Deficits

  • Balance & Gait
  • Endurance
  • Strength
  • Motor Skills
  • Coordination

Adult and Pediatric Patients

Adult and pediatric patients who may experience positive results from IM include those with:
  • ADD/ADHD
  • Pervasive Developmental Delay (PDD)
  • Balance Disorders
  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
  • Cerebral Vascular Accident (CVA)
  • Developmental Disorders
  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
  • Limb Amputation
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Incomplete Spinal Cord Injury
  • and other mild to moderate disabilities

Benefits of Interactive Metronome

Research shows IM positively impacts cognitive, behavioral and physical performance.

Interactive Metronome has been shown to produce significant results in children and adults with a wide range of physical and cognitive difficulties including ADHD. The March/April 2001 issue of the American Journal of Occupational Therapy identified five core areas of statistically significant improvements gained through the IM training program:

  • Attention and Focus
  • Motor Control and Coordination
  • Language Processing
  • Reading and Math Fluency
  • Ability to Regulate Aggression / Impulsivity

Ongoing studies continue to validate correlations between Interactive Metronome and academic achievement in mathematics, language, reading and attention to task. The IM program has also proven to be a powerful tool for improving both the physical and mental aspects of athletic performance.

Leading schools, universities and professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, NHL and PGA are also using the IM program and seeing impressive results.

What our customers say...

We saw a tremendous change in Mayra’s coordination. Interactive Metronome seems to help her click and understand how her body should move together. She is much more coordinated and is willing to try new movement activities. She is always dancing and excited to go to dance class. She even wants to start karate.
